1. What is Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC)?

The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) was set up in 1990 to promote public environmental awareness and encourage the public to contribute actively towards a better environment. The Committee Members are appointed by the Chief Executive. They come from green groups, the education sector and academic field, industrial and business organizations, professional institutions and community service agencies. Representatives of relevant government departments, including the Environmental Protection Department, also sit on the Committee. Since its establishment, the ECC has planned and organized many major environmental events and activities in collaboration with different sectors of the community every year. 4. What kind of funding supports does ECC offer to the public?

Under the ECC, there is an Environmental Education and Community Action Projects Vetting Sub-committee to vet and approve funding applications for organizing environmental education or activities. The maximum amount that the Vetting Sub-committee can approve is HK$2,000,000. For funding applications exceeding HK$2,000,000, the Vetting Sub-committee may reject it or request the applicant to provide further information, or recommend them for consideration by the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee. 5. What is Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF)?

The Environment and Conservation Fund was established in 1994 to provide financial support for non-profit making organizations to organize environmental education and research projects, as well as community waste recovery projects. 8. Does ECC collect second-hand goods such as PC, furniture, clothes or papers?

Vacancies of this Committee are normally advertised in the local press and recruitment is conducted in accordance with the procedures stated therein.
