The Environmental Campaign Committee has invited the technical consultant of the Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification to organise a free webinar on 19 August 2021, 3:00 p.m. to help companies and organisations to become a Green Organisation and enhance their competitiveness. Apart from introducing the new requirements of environmental measures of the HKGOC certificates, we have also invited a representative from Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited, which has been awarded the “Green Organisation" title, to share their successful experience in implementing environmental management in multiple aspects. The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) is now inviting proposals to offer Event Management Services for the Virtual Presentation Ceremony of Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC) from event management companies. Deadline for proposal submission is 12:00 noon on 30 June 2021 (Hong Kong time). Late submissions will not be accepted.

Please note that the Hong Kong Green School Award (HKGSA) is subsumed under the HKAEE starting from the 2020-2021 school year. After the subsumption, all pre-schools, primary and secondary schools are eligible to compete under the Schools Sector of the HKAEE.

The webinar will not only introduce the application procedure of the HKGOC certificates, but also invite a Green Organisation’s representative to share their experience in green management which could shed light on improving environmental practice of companies and organisations. In view of the severity of the current COVID-19 epidemic situation and recent announcement to revive working from home, the application deadline of 2020 HKAEE has been extended to 31 December 2020 to allow more preparation time for companies and organisations to submit their applications and continue to strive for excellence in practicing environmental management during the pandemic.

As part of the first phase of Reduce & Recycle 2.0 Campaign rolled out by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) and the Environmental Protection Department, the new Big Waster Chatbot function has been introduced on ECC’s Facebook page to help people understand more about the network and search for the nearest recycling locations. The public can click "Send Message" on the ECC Facebook page or use this link to start the chatbot, which can also help them check information about the Community Smart Recycling Vehicle’s tour schedule.

The augmented reality game has also been relaunched on Instagram (on mobile devices only) to keep familiarising citizens with the eight types of recyclables accepted by the community recycling network.
